Sharon Benjamin Hodo death details
More details have been released on the death of Sharon Benjamin-Hodo, the mother of rapper Andre 3000. According to Billboard, who spoke with reps for 3000, Hodo passed Monday, May 28 which was coincidentally the rapper’s 38th birthday.
The family of Hodo is asking fans and supporters to donate to The Starlight Camp, a program for underprivileged children through her church home, New Morning Light Missionary Baptist Church. A devout Christian, Hodo was the wife of Pastor Robert L. Hodo who oversees New Morning Light’s congregation.
Prior to her death, Hodo gave an interview to TalkWithAudrey.com where she expressed her support and love for her rap legend son.
“I hear other people saying they saw my son [Andre] this place and that place and he made me think about you. That just brings so much joy to me,” said Hodo. “I still feel he is still respectable and he will listen and he is still humble. That is what continues to help me grow.”
