After PR exec Justine Sacco made the mistake of putting together an incredibly racist tweet, Twitter turned into a virtual angry mob with 140 characters instead of pitchforks. As previously reported, the PR director for IAC sent out a racist tweet about her trip to Africa on December 20.

“Going to Africa. Hope I don’t get AIDS. Just kidding. I’m white,” wrote the dingy halfwit.

Soon the tweet went viral and IAC released a statement noting that while her behavior was unacceptable they could not contact Justine because she was still on her 11-hour flight to Africa.

“This is an outrageous, offensive comment that does not reflect the views and values of IAC,” the company said in a statement. “Unfortunately, the employee in question is unreachable on an international flight, but this is a very serious matter and we are taking appropriate action.”

When news hit that Justine was oblivious to the firestorm she caused and clearing her own impending firing, Twitter spurned hashtags that included #TwitPicYourWaitingForJustineFace and #HasJustineLandedYet. The tags garnered tweets from stars like Kerry Washington and made light of the miscreant’s mistake.

Furthermore members of the press in Africa took to the airport to greet her and get her reactions firsthand.
