Elizabeth Lauten, whose Twitter moniker is @DCGopGirl, made some disparaging remarks about Malia and Sasha Obama on Facebook based on her perception of them at the White House Annual Turkey Pardoning Ceremony.

Many media outlets poked fun at the Obama sisters and their expressions of “indifference,” which many would agree is typical teen behavior. But Lauten took exception to the matter and lost cool points. It’s typical mean girl behavior.

In an open letter, i.e. Facebook status update, she told them “try showing a little class” and then went on to say “Then again your parents don’t respect their positions very much, or the nation for that matter, so I’m guessing you’re coming up short in the ‘good role model’ department.”

Lauten is communications director for U.S. Rep. Stephen Fincher. The GOP staffer is a cyber-bully, completely out of line and needs to face repercussions. Her behavior is inflammatory and provocative. If Lauten considers her post on Facebook an example of “class” then as a southern belle, I am flummoxed. This isn’t exactly an example of “class” that this writer learned in etiquette class or any periodical on the subject.

To add insult to injury, the snobbish Lauten demanded the teenaged first daughters to, “Stretch yourself. Rise to the occasion. Act like being in the White House matters to you. Dress like you deserve respect, not a spot at a bar. And certainly don’t make faces during televised, public events.”

Read the rant for yourself and her lame apology here.
