Black Enterprise’s Women of Power Summit Offers Pampering and Shopping at Macy’s

Powerful women need pampering, too. The special events staff at Macy’s opened their doors to the participants of the Black Enterprise Women of Power Summit to meet this need. They welcomed the ladies with open arms and offered them an opportunity to indulge in free massages, manicures, makeup master classes, discounts and, to top it, off a private consultation with and an autographed picture of “Project Runway” star and designer Mychael Knight.alt

altVanessa Brown, a petite attendee who was showing off her quilted Macy’s swag bag and autographed picture shared, “I met Mychael and he offered me some really good advice on how to dress for my height. I really enjoyed myself today.”

Gina from North Carolina was all smiles when she walked away from her session with the manicurist. “I am really having a great time. The summit is off to a great start. Now I am trying to figure out if I am going to use my discount to shop for me or my mate,” she said.

Light refreshments were served and the ladies enjoyed some great music performed by a live jazz band. Then they were off to catch the complimentary shuttle that escorted them to and from the host hotel, the luxurious Grande Lakes, Orlando Ritz-Carlton, and the Mall at Millennia. –yvette caslin
