On Feb. 17, Michael Jordan, whose jersey bore the number 23, reached the half-century mark, but it seems that it was just yesterday that we watched this man leading his team to victory, sweat pouring down, physical energy nearly depleted (but drawing on sheer strength of will), fighting through what most of us would have been in need of medical attention for. He was playing the game he loved (and doing it very well) despite of having the flu. After the game (which the Chicago Bulls won) he nearly collapsed into the arms of teammate Scottie Pippen; such was the level of his love and commitment to the game.
