Throughout his career West Coast rapper, Game, has collaborated with a myriad of producers including go-to-hit-man Kanye West, who’s provided beats for each of Game’s three previous albums. But on his upcoming R.E.D. Album, the Chicago rapper/producer is nowhere to be found and according to Game, he may be to blame because of his disses towards West’s ex-girlfriend, Amber Rose.

During his recent interview with Sway Calloway for RapFix Live, Game was asked when he would next work with Yeezy, prompting the rapper to explain his presumed fallout with West.

“I dunno, I think I dissed Amber Rose while she was with [Kanye] and I think that kinda tainted our relationship a little bit,” said Game. “I reached out to Kanye at the beginning of the album and I seen him in L.A. He said he was gonna give me some beats, but he never did. I didn’t take it personal, I got nothing but love for ‘Ye and the things that we did in the past.”

Despite wanting to, once again, recapture their past music magic, Game explains that he won’t beg West for a beat or rhyme.

“What I’m saying is, I’m not waking up begging to work with Kanye, number one, but if it happens it happens; if it don’t, it don’t.”

Calloway also asked the rapper if his disses towards West’s mentor and current collaborator, Jay-Z, whose joint album with West, Watch The Throne, hits iTunes today (Aug. 8), may have been the cause for the demise of their creative relationship. Although Game doesn’t believe that to be the case, he admits that he would empathize with West’s sense of loyalty if the shoe was on the other foot, citing his relationship with his own mentor, Dr. Dre, who will narrate the R.E.D. Album.

“I’ve been shooting shots at Jay from the beginning, but worked with ‘Ye throughout,” Game said. “But I understand, because if you shoot a shot at Dre, then it’s a possibility I might not work with you or I might not be as open to working with you. I understand it.” – nicholas robinson
