Kim Kardashian has suffered a widespread backlash following her announcement that she’s ending her (questionable) Hollywood marriage to NBA star Kris Humphries. Critics also aren’t too happy about Kardashian playing the lead role in Tyler Perry’s upcoming film, The Marriage Counselor. Well, now it seems that all of her critics are rallying together to do something it. An online “No More Kardashian” petition has been launched to remove Kim K and the rest of her Kardashian clan from the E! Entertainment network for good.

“In a grass roots effort, we have collected [thousands of] signatures for a petition asking E! Entertainment to remove the Kardashian suite of shows from their programming,” petition organizer Cyndy Snider said in a statement to Yahoo. “We feel that these shows are mostly staged and place an emphasis on vanity, greed, promiscuity, vulgarity and over-the-top conspicuous consumption.”

Snider continued, “While some may have begun watching the spectacle as mindless entertainment or as a sort of ‘reality satire,’ it is a sad truth that many young people are looking up to this family and are modeling their appearance and behavior after them. I’ll remind you here that the Kardashian family fame largely started with a ‘leaked’ sex tape.”

“There is no particular religious or political platform behind our disgust; we are just finally fed up,” concluded Snider.

The petition, which is available at, isn’t the only opposition that the family is facing. Several other websites and Facebook pages are calling for their removal from TV and there’s also another petition to remove Kardashian from Perry’s new film.

Some of Kim K’s critics have even gone to the comments section of Perry’s website to voice their disdain for his new leading lady.

“I really am disappointed in your decision to keep Kim K in your movie. She is a disgrace to herself and her family. She is a role model and she has disappointed her fans. Let her go. I guarantee she will bring your ratings down. Dump her,” Marcell Troupe wrote.

“ATTENTION PEOPLE!!! Stop asking for handouts or to be in his next movie!! Don’t you know Just make a SEX TAPE and he will cast you in his next movie no matter what his fans think!!!!!!! Kim K did so can you! :)” Jeromy wrote.

Well, though we doubt that either E! or Perry will drop the Kardashians any time soon, Kim can rest assured that she’s not alone in the celebrity backlash pool. Here are seven other celebs who have faced public backlash during a scandal. –nicholas robinson
