Alex Karras of ‘Webster’ Fame Dead
The man who played George Papadapolis in the widely popular TV series “Webster,” has died. Attorney Craig Mitnick confirmed today that his client, Alex Karras, passed away at his Los Angeles home surrounded by friends and family. The former Detroit Lion was 77 years old and was said to be suffering from dementia and kidney failure.
Prior to his death, Karras was heralded for not only starring alongside Emmanuel Lewis and Susan Clark in the ’80s television series, but also for his role in the 1974 film, Blazing Saddles. Karras famously punched a horse in the movie. –danielle canada
