“The Real” continues the week with guest co-host Mel B, the “America’s Got Talent” judge and former Spice Girl. She chats about the 20th anniversary of the hit song “Wannabe.” Plus, the ladies weigh in on Mariah Carey’s headline-making New Year’s Eve performance and co-host Adrienne Houghton’s must-see suggestion on how she would have saved the show.

Carey addresses the issue on Twitter:

She writes on her Twitter: @mariahcarey – In my own words. #NYE #L4L 💖 #thefoilers

In the video, she responds:

“Thus it turned into an opportunity to humiliate me and all those who were excited to ring in the new year with me,” she says in the minute-and-a-half long audio statement posted Sunday with the hashtag #thefoilers.

Carey says “my feelings are hurt, but I’m working through this.” She goes on to say that she plans to take a break from “media moments and social-media moments” as she prepares for her March tour.

Mel B: “I was on the platform next to her. So she was like right there and I was watching, going, ‘What is going on over there?’ ‘Cause I was kind of trying to lip-sync along to her song pretending I was Mariah and then it all stopped. And I looked over and I couldn’t believe what I was actually seeing because you know, as a performer, as somebody on TV, if something happens you just keep going. Your first reaction is to not let [the] silence go too long. So I was in complete shock. I was like, ‘Why did you let that happen?’ And this is Mariah, who’s an amazing singer and an amazing performer.”

Shoulda coulda Woulda just didn’t happen. and for something that could have been remembered on a More positive note. It ended in tragedy for EVERYONE. Sad.. Mariah gives Up, instead of cutting it off at the head making the band/music stop and just singing a song she knew..any song would have been great after all it’s Mariah Carey. But she stops.. Then where was her Management, Her Team then?.. All those I really love & support Mariah No one in her Team came out to help take control and place her in a better postion that night. Horrible they all need to be fired because if no one can come to you in your actual REAL time of need and say look listen start from this moment and just sing what you know regardless and go forward you don’t need them around you. No one came out then and told her to just sing a song she knew and actually could perform. As an Entertainer we know anything at any tome can happen the unexpected can be just that but as an Entertainer blind sided or not you have to pull it together and be the performer you are and do the job you were hired and brought in to do..if you at least try instead of give up your Fans/followers will understand in the end. EPIC..xoXO

It was NOT her technical team after all so it was Dick Clarks’ tech people who should have rushed out to her help her but instead they left her hanging….. she stopped because she was waiting for them to fix the glitch!!

Last year anybody who attended any one of Mariah’s successful Caesars Palace residency shows, or attended her much acclaimed UK/Europe/South Africa concert tour, or her celebrated, sold out Beacon Theater Holiday concerts in NYC already knows Mimi still got it in spades and sings her ass off each & every night!! (easy to fact check with google & youtube)
Yes, It is true her voice is delicate & what happened on NYE was unfortunate but anyone who thinks Mariah has lost it is just mistaken at best – or just plain hatin’ at worst ….
