Black monuments in Washington, D.C.

While you are in town for the historic 57th Presidential Inauguration starring Barack Obama, it only makes sense that you would check out some of the other black monuments, buildings and other locations in Washington D.C. that have deep significance to black history. The District of Columbia, as much as any other city, is rich with cultural artifacts that tell the story of slavery to the Civil War and up to today.
