The Avengers brings together an all-star lineup of Marvel superheroes. The movie features Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Captain America (Chris Evans), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), the Incredible Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) as they try to save the world.
Samuel L. Jackson stars as Nick Fury, the director of the peacekeeping agency that pulls the superheroes together to fight an alien attack led by Loki (Tom Hiddleston), who is Thor’s brother.
The movie opened on May 4, 2012, and industry experts are predicting that The Avengers will break box-office records. –rachael mason
