Few young vocalists have the command and personality
of New Orleans (by way of the Bay) native Ledisi.
On her Verve label debut, Lost & Found, both her
strengths as a singer and as a songwriter are directly
at the forefront. Her poignantly sincere ode on
“Best Friend” conveys a certain sensitivity and honesty
not often heard, while “Upside Down” may be
one of the most infectiously soulful recordings of
2007. This is one sophisticated and earthy album
from an undeniable talent that the world will want to
