Luster Products and Alizé: Runway Chic

Luster Products and Alizé: Runway ChicThe more things change, the more they stay the same. The familiar adage has never been more fitting than now to highlight the enduring relevance of the Luster Products hair care brand. As if it were a guarded birthright, black mothers have long passed on the gift of Luster to their daughters, proudly watching them grow up to pay that precious gift forward and share Luster Products with their offspring. This is an established part of our culture, as it’s virtually impossible to mention “Luster Pink” in conversation without someone saying “my mother used to put that in my hair!” Even within the tight knit Hollywood community, the Luster Products brand is looked upon with an esteemed veneration. So it came as no surprise when the alluring actress Tamala Jones, who has been featured in such memorable projects as Head of State, The Brothers, and The Wood, considered it an honor to walk the runway on behalf of Luster for the recent Celebrity Catwalk for Charity, a fashion show/lifestyle event to raise funds and awareness for National Animal Rescue sponsored by Alizé and Luster Products, held at the posh Highlands Hollywood night club.As Jones prepared to rip the runway, Luster’s glam squad arrived at her doorstep, ready to transform the already stunning actress into a breathtaking sight to captivate spectators later that evening. While the Celebrity Catwalk was held for a charitable cause, Jones also felt fortunate to be blessed by Luster Products. “I have always loved the way Luster felt,” she gleefully shared while rubbing Luster Pink between her thumb and forefinger. “It’s so rich, yet so light. And it always helps your hair look just right.” A glowing Jones’ bounce in her hair rivaled the bounce in her step following her Luster transformation. From Tiffany “New York” Pollard to sexy pin-up Vida Guerra, countless other celebrities were set make their appearances and donate their time to strut down the catwalk showcasing designs from various fashion houses. But it wasn’t until Jones graced the runway that the crowd’s excitement permeated the room. Possessing a confidence all too familiar with any black woman whose hair was “laid,” Jones commanded the stage with each outfit change. Co-host LisaRaye McCoy Misick gave final remarks, “There’s not a black woman in here that hasn’t had their hair hooked up by Luster at some point in time.”I couldn’t have said it better myself … neither could Tamala Jones. –dewayne rogers
