Tess and Ben “Finn” Finnegan aren’t a typical married couple. They’re treasure hunters whose love of booty keeps their rocky relationship from sinking. Played by Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey, the pair is surely headed for divorce this time, but they decide to give it one more shot as they set out on a promising hunt. What ensues is a lion’s share of quality jokes, many having to do with Ben’s lying or the unpredictable nature of treasure hunting. But is that enough? Well, the cast, which includes Donald Sutherland and Brian Hooks, is perfect; however, in the end, Fool’s Gold isn’t the tastiest slice of white bread around.
