When Korbel named the M Lounge as one of the venues for its signature concert series, one thing was clearly evident – the best of both worlds would be elegantly fused for one beautiful evening. Nestled in the heart of the city’s burgeoning South Loop, the M Lounge has served as a cornerstone for this district’s rejuvenated nightlife. Owner Reginald Marsh, who is also a resident of the South Loop area, saw an impressive rebuilding effort occurring in his community. However, as townhomes and condos continued to sprout up, he noticed their was something missing – viable nightlife. So Marsh opened the M Lounge and the community hasn’t been the same since.
“The response of the community has been great,” Marsh explains. “We’ve been open for two years, and since Day One, we’ve been thriving. The people of the community just love the atmosphere. We’re a jazz-martini lounge, which does live jazz every Tuesday and Wednesday night, and then on the weekend it’s just a really nice spot for people to come and meet other people.”
The atmosphere and energy that Marsh speaks of is undeniable, as the lounge continues to draw impressive numbers. That allure, teamed with the popularity of Korbel sent the M Lounge rocking like never before. “The event with Korbel was an amazing experience,” Marsh states. “The entire night was just filled with good people, all focused on having an enjoyable evening, which we did. I appreciate them thinking of the M Lounge to pull off such a wonderful event.” – dewayne rogers
