Angus Buchan (Frank Rautenbach) is a Zambian farmer of Scottish descent who finds he has to leave his farm during a dire time of political conflict and land reclaimings. He and his family leave to chart a new destiny in South Africa. Angus was once an irksome, sometimes violent man who was prone to getting into disputes with the local blacks and mistreating those on his land. His endeavors were based on monetary success, but when personal tragedy and natural disasters struck, he was transformed into a person who lives by faith.
