FEAR 2: Project Origin

Warner Bros. Entertainment presents its sequel to Fear with Fear 2: Project Origin.

Publisher: Warner Bros. Entertainment
Genre: Horror/ Action FPS Shooter

It’s always good when a sequel to a game is actually better than the first; FEAR 2 is that kind of sequel. After spending way more than a few hours with FEAR 2, the ro game guy can attest that FEAR 2 is bigger, badder and scarier than the first installment. This time, the story line focuses more on Alma, the protagonist in the FEAR series. You play Sgt. Beckett, as you search a strangely desolate, and extremely dangerous penthouse for a missing scientist and clues to Alma’s whereabouts. If you’ve played FEAR, you know what comes next, plenty of shooting and a good dose of fright thrown in for good measure. FEAR 2 easily outdoes FEAR in this area. Improvements to the enemy AI makes things a little tougher this time out. Bad guys take cover and communicate with each other to try and get the upper hand on you. While it was loads of fun shredding every enemy that moved, there’s no way to lean around corners in FEAR 2 to scope out the enemy — and you better believe, when you pop out for a moment to look around, someone lays waiting to send a couple of rounds your way. That said, FEAR 2 is a satisfying and fun game. The whole world has a truly nightmarish quality to it that easily surpasses anything in FEAR. I didn’t get a chance to check out the multi-player, but from what I’ve read on a few gaming forums, it’s pretty good. But the bottom line here is, if you liked the first one, FEAR 2: Project Origin is definitely a must-have. –dark abyss
