As a first-person shooter, Killzone 2 doesn’t try to reinvent the wheel. Everything in Killzone 2 is pretty much standard fare for games in this genre. That said, what Killzone 2
does do is an excellent job of perfecting game play, graphics and enemy
A.I. The result is a game that is visually stunning and, most
important, fun to play. Realism seems to be a big part of Killzone 2,
and that naturalness is displayed not only in the fantastic
environments you get to fight (and die) in, but also in the way your
character moves and shoots.
Killzone 2
does an excellent job of capturing the “war is hell” experience,
especially hearing the sounds of men dying all around you while the
bullets are flying. You will have to make extensive use of cover in Killzone 2
or you definitely won’t last long. But the biggest challenge is from
the enemy soldiers. Dressed like Nazis from the 1940s, these smart
little buggers will flank you, take cover and lob grenades with a
passion. Put all these things together and you have one of the best
looking and challenging shooters for the PS3. Although the last boss
may be a little too challenging, we never could beat him. Anyone know
any cheat codes? Still, if first-person shooters are your thing, check
out Killzone 2. –dark abyss
