Battered Rihanna Pictures Surface on the Web
Pictures of Rihanna after her alleged assault at the hands of Chris
Brown appeared on TMZ last night. The images show the 20 year-old pop
singer with swollen lips, knots on her head and visible scratches on
her face. The Los Angeles police department has opened an internal
investigation to find out whether the image was part of police evidence
in the case. “The Los Angeles Police Department takes seriously its
duty to maintain the confidentiality of victims of domestic violence,”
the L.A. police department said in a statement. “The Department
launched an immediate internal investigation and subsequently filed a
personnel complaint. A violation of this type is considered serious
misconduct, with penalties up to and including termination.”
Afeni Shakur Sued Over Tupac’s Life Rights
Production company Morgan Creek is suing Afeni Shakur, claiming the
mother of fallen rap star, Tupac Shakur reneged on agreement to sell
her son’s story rights for an upcoming film adaptation. Reportedly
unhappy with Amaru Entertainment’s refusal to honor and properly
execute a contract for a production of the film based on Tupac Shakur.
The company is seeking financial damages and other relief.
Usher’s Wife Released
Usher’s wife, Tameka Foster-Raymond was released from a hospital in
Brazil Tuesday, Feb. 16, after spending nearly two weeks in the
hospital recovering from liposuction surgery gone wrong. Raymond
suffered a cardiac arrest while being anesthetized before the surgery.
Following the cardiac arrest she was in a coma. The incident forced
Usher to miss his Grammy appearance on Feb. 8.
