Surprises Around Every Corner At Bronner Bros. Hair Show
As
the Bronner Brothers Hair Show shifted into fifth gear with the highly
anticipated Hair Battle Royale, the crowd waited anxiously,
anticipating what the much publicized knock-down, drag-out hair affair
would entail. Acclaimed hair stylist Derek J. of the J Spot, was primed
for the battle and came armed a few tricks up his sleeves — one of
being the rapper Yo Yo. The popular artist talked with ro about just how eager she was to lend Derek J. this much needed assist.
“Derek has done my hair before, so when he approached me about making a
surprise appearance, I was all for it,” Yo Yo explains. “It works for
both of us. It’s a way for him to excite the crowd and honor the women
of hip-hop, and it’s a way for me to reconnect with my fans, and let
them hear some of my old music, as well as my new single.”
When pressed about her new material, it was hard
for Yo Yo to hide her excitement. “I am absolutely in love with my new
music. I’m finally letting people see all of me,” she shares. “The
first single is ‘Give it T’um,’ and it should really get the people in
the crowd moving. It’s fun, it’s free, and it lets me dance and have a
ball on stage.”
“Give it T’um” is set to be released on Yo Yo’s new EP, My Journey to Fearless: The Black Butterfly,
which will drop this summer. And if the crowd’s response is any
indication of success, then the west coast lyricist should experience
nothing but smooth sailing when the new music drops. –dewayne rogers
