Exiled Tibetan spiritual leader, Dalai Lama, says he’d never heard of Tiger Woods (now that’s exiled!), but couldn’t resist chiming in on the salacious situation.
When he was explained the cirmcumstances, he took special note of Tiger’s acknowlegment that he had strayed from his Buddhist faith. The Dalai Lama reminded that self-discipline is among the highest values of the faith’s principals — and most others for that matter — and Tiger would do well to reconnect and submit himself to it.
“When it comes to adultery, all religions have the same idea,” he shared. “Whether you call it Buddhism or another religion, self-discipline, that’s important. Self-discipline with awareness of consequences.”
Whether his inclusion of religion in his public address was coached and contrived or not, he can’t deny the validity of what the Dalai had to offer. Consider taking heed, Tiger. –gerald radford
