Tiger Woods turned in a forgettable performance at the 2010 Masters. Although Woods finished 4th in the tournament, he showed considerable rust after the five-month layoff.
“I felt bad on every golf shot today,” Woods said at the conclusion of the Masters. “I had a terrible warm-up. It was godawful. I hadn’t hit a good shoot in five holes. This week was unsuccessful. I made way too many mistakes.”
The mistakes Woods made outside of golf have been the biggest sports story since November and remained a hot topic during the Masters. Woods also caught flack last week for an ill-advised Nike ad that featured the voice of his late father, Earl Woods.
Woods’ tough week proved that he is still recovering from the sexual scandal that changed his life. It’s apparent that it will take a few more months for him to regain his position as the world’s best golfer. –a.r.
