Julian Marley Stars at the 29th Annual International Reggae & World Music Awards

Several notable reggae artists will carry on a family tradition at the 2010 International Reggae & World Music Awards. Julian Marley (son of Bob Marley), Gramps Morgan (son of Denroy Morgan), Queen Ifrica (daughter of Derrick Morgan) and Tarrus Riley (son of Derrick Riley) have been nominated for awards.

The show will honor the top reggae artists of the year and also pay tribute to hip-hop, gospel, salsa, calypso, soca, African, compas, racine and reggaeton. Other artists who will perform at the event include Julian Marley, Machel Montano, Queen Ifrica, Tony Rebel, Alison Hinds, Gramps Morgan, Barbee, Dean Fraser, Winsome Benjamin, Tarrus Riley, New Kingston Band, Mutabaruka, Dean Fraser, Brigadier Jerry and Awilo Longomba.

The awards ceremony will take place May 2, 2010, at York College Performing Arts Center in Jamaica, N.Y. –a.r.
