Jesse Jackson Claims Dan Gilbert Has Slave Master's Mentality; Mark Cuban Wants Heat Investigated

The LeBron James fiasco continues several days after the big decision. Civil rights leader Rev. Jesse Jackson has blasted Cleveland Cavaliers’ owner Dan Gilbert for the incendiary note that he wrote to Cavs fans following James’ choice to sign with the Miami Heat.

In the note Gilbert called James a quitter and characterized his decision as “cowardly.”

Jackson took Gilbert to task.”He speaks as an owner of LeBron and not the Cleveland Cavs,” Jackson wrote in a press release. “His feelings of betrayal personify a slave master mentality. He sees LeBron as a runway slave. This is an owner employee relationship, between business partners, LeBron honored his contract.”

Dallas Mavericks’ owner, Mark Cuban, may also have a slave owner’s mentality. Cuban agreed with Gilbert’s rant and is now calling for the NBA to investigate how NBA All-Stars James, Chris Bosh, and Dwyane Wade were able to sign with the Miami Heat. Cuban believes that player tampering should be looked at closer and have more strict guidelines.
