First lady Michelle Obama is on her way to her hometown to tape an episode of “The Oprah Winfrey Show.” Obama will talk with her pal Oprah Winfrey on the show again. The president’s wife is looking to bring a higher profile to a mission that’s close to her heart: helping Americans who have family members in the military. She will talk with Winfrey about her beliefs and then the two will be joined by a military family to discuss what Americans can do to ease the burden on such families, reports the Associated Press.
The episode is scheduled to air on Thursday and will also feature “NBC Nightly News” anchor Tom Brokaw and Washington Post reporter and bestselling author Bob Woodward. Brokaw is the author of The Greatest Generation, which talks about World War II veterans. Woodward, who served as a lieutenant in the Navy, is famous for helping to break open the Watergate scandal along with Carl Bernstein.
Obama will tape the show at Harpo Studios and then she’ll return to the capital. It will be one of the last original episodes of Winfrey’s nationally syndicated talk show. –terry shropshire
