The Sundance Film Festival (Jan. 20-30) has officially been kicked into high gear, and the eyes of the Hollywood are on on Park City, Utah. And while there has been no shortage of star power on hand (we see you Oprah), Sundance is typically that time of year where the underdog gets a chance to shine, and the old dog gets a chance to prove it still has its bite.

Pariah
The film takes us into the world of a butch teenager trying to find her way. This film was written and directed by Dee Rees, and film stars Adepero Oduye, Pernell Walker, Kim Wayans, Charles Parnell and Aasha Davis.
Beats, Rhymes and Life
Actor Michael Rapaport directs a riveting story chronicling the rise and reach of A Tribe Called Quest, arguably one of hip-hop’s most influential groups.
The Ledge
Terrence Howard returns to the place that saw his career be reignited by his turn in Hustle & Flow. This time around, he is starring in The Ledge opposite Charlie Hunnam, Liv Tyler and Patrick Wilson. The film was written and directed by Matthew Chapman.
The Guard
Written and directed by John Michael McDonagh, veteran actor Don Cheadle shines in this film about a small-town cop in Ireland. Brendan Gleeson, Mark Strong, Liam Cunningham, David Wilmot and Dominique McElligot also star in the film.
