altVeteran New York rapper Nas may be in a prison state of mind if he doesn’t pay up to the IRS for the $6 million worth of tax liens filed against him.

According to the Detroit News’ Tax Watchdog Blog, Nas has three outstanding liens against him.

The first lien was filed in New York on Oct. 16, 2009, for $2,584,236. The address on this lien refers to his mansion in the Eagles Landing community of McDonough, Ga. The second was also filed in New York on Feb. 3, 2010, for $3,365,671. The last lien was just recently filed with the New York City Register of Deeds on Jan. 10 for $514,298.

Nas also reportedly owes $3,860 on a separate lien filed last fall by his condo managers in Queens, N.Y., who claim the rapper hasn’t paid the $420 monthly assessment since Jan. 2010.

All in all Nas’ debt totals up to $6.46 million.

With tax debt like that Nas should take a hint from fellow hip-hop tax deadbeat Lil Jon and join the cast of “Celebrity Apprentice” or at least seek to follow in Flavor Flav’s footsteps and get a quick cash pay out with a VH1 reality show … his antics with Kelis would make for interesting entertainment. –nicholas robinson
