Jennifer Hudson Amazes Fans at ‘Soul Sessions’ Concert

When Jennifer Hudson made her entrance at Atlanta’s W Midtown hotel, to the fans’ on the first and second rows delight she gave an up-close-and-personal greeting, serenading the audience with lyrics accompanied by heart-thumping beats that couldn’t be deciphered because this writer was too busy running to snap her picture.

The Grammy Award-winning singer offered a high-powered and soulful, 30-minute performance, previewing her sophomore album, I Remember Me, which will be in stores on Tuesday, March 22, 2011. The Weight Watchers spokeswoman was sporting her new hourglass figure in a fitted purple knit dress.

She shared with fans that she’s had her tribulation but she’s still a “strong diva,” before performing  fan favorites like “Spotlight,” from her debut album, an Aretha Franklin-like single, “Where You At,” written by R. Kelly, as well as the boy-come-hither single “Angel,” which she wrote with Alicia Keys.

Hudson was accompanied by a live four-piece band, a couple of back up singers and her adorable toddler son, David Jr.

This intimate performance was hosted by V-103 FM for listeners who were fortunate enough to win tickets to their popular VIP Soul Sessions event. Sponsors included Hennessy, Ford and Georgia Lottery. –yvette caslin
