It was only a matter of time before Beyoncé news started to roll through on the regular. Now, with a new single on the horizon, Bey-related material has slowly started to trickle in. It first began with news that the talented singer had teamed with first lady Michelle Obama.
At the request of the first lady, Beyoncé re-wrote and re-recorded “Get Me Bodied,” renaming it “Move Your Body” for their campaign called “Let’s Move! Flash Workout.” Beyoncé shared her excitement with being a part of the project.
“I am excited to be part of this effort that addresses a public health crisis. First lady Michelle Obama deserves credit for tackling this issue directly, and I applaud the NAB [National Association of Broadcasters] Education Foundation for trying to make a positive difference in the lives of our school children.”
When Bey wasn’t working on childhood obesity, she was busy assembling an army of African dancers for a dance sequence in her highly-anticipated new single “Girl.” According to Sister2Sister Magazine, Beyoncé flew 200 African dancers to L.A. to take part in this epic video.
The song is meant to be seen as an empowerment anthem and is rumored to be scheduled for release this week. We’ll let you know as soon as it drops. –djr
