‘Two and a Half Men’ Co-Star Jon Cryer Makes Hard-Core Rap Album

Charlie Sheen is “winning!” The forgotten co-star of “Two and a Half Men,” Jon Cryer, is trying to. So, in his efforts to draw from some of the Sheen shine, Cryer decided to come out with … a hardcore rap album. Seriously.

“Lately, I’ve had some free time,” Jon Cryer admitted to laughter on “The Comedy Awards.” Yeah, no kidding. Too much time and, perhaps, based upon the lyrics, the aid of some potent intoxicants.

“Maybe as a reaction to some of the recent events in my life, I’ve been looking for a way to express myself,” he told the crowd.

The “Two and a Half Men” actor, who, before this, was best known for starring in the “Brat Pack” classic, Pretty in Pink, in the 80s, then revealed that he’d been working on a new album and gave the awards show audience a sampling. What followed was a hardcore rap song, “Jon Cryer will F— You Up!”

Cryer, denounced as a “troll” by Sheen for not sticking up for the real star of “Two and a Half Men” during the final days of the ultra-popular sitcom, really is as goofy and geeky as the character he portrayed. That suggests that Cryer, like Sheen, really wasn’t acting on the show, which may have aided in “Two and a Half Men’s” immense success. But the lyrics suggest that Cryer may have tried to channel some of Charlie Sheen’s tiger blood to unleash his own inner crazy.

Cryer’s dorky dance moves contrasted radically with the song’s profane lyrics, the black rappers who actually belted out the rhymes and the booty-shaking girls.

Tragically, something tells me that the song and the ensuing album are going to turn out to be major hits with “mainstream” music fans. –terry shropshire
