Nicki Minaj has never been a very forthcoming artist when it comes to sharing news and details about upcoming projects. But in a somewhat vocal move, the Young Money rapper revealed that she will make an announcement about a new album in September, with the album set to be released in the next 12 months.
Nicki revealed the news during a recent interview with JoJo of L.A.’s KIIS FM radio station.
“You’ll get another album within 12 months,” Nicki told JoJo. “I always write stuff down as they come. You’ll get the announcement for the next album in — and I’m saying the announcement—that you’ll get the announcement in September. That’s all.”
During the interview, Nicki also spoke of her soon-to-be released video for her single “Super Bass,” claiming that her fans have been overly impatient about its release.
“I put my Barbs on detention yesterday because they were yelling at me and threatening to beat me up and kill me over the ‘Super Bass’ video,” Nicki added. “Last night I approved the final ‘Super Bass’ edit. So now it’s out of my control and I’m hoping you’ll get it before the week is out. But if not, you’ll get it at the top of next week.”
Videos for “Did It On ‘Em” and “Fly” featuring Rihanna have also been shot.
Until then, rabid and angry fans can enjoy hearing Minaj on the new remix to Britney Spears’ “Till The World Ends,” which also features Ke$ha, and showcases a comical verse and possible Lil Kim diss from the Pink Friday emcee as she raps lines like, “sniff, sniff, cries/I done slayed your whole entire f—–g life.”
