Donald Trump and Rush Limbaugh Praise President Obama

Staunch right-wingers have apparently raised the white flag. Republicans and Tea Party leaders, who spend most of their waking moments spewing hate toward President Obama, have bestowed praise upon him for the first time since he was elected in 2008.

While speaking on his radio show, Rush Limbaugh congratulated President Obama and exalted him as if had denounced the Democratic Party and embraced conservative ideas.

“President Obama has done something extremely effective, and when he does, this needs to be pointed out,” Limbaugh said. “Our military wanted to go in there and just scorch earth…but President Obama single-handedly understood what was at stake. He alone understood the need to get DNA to prove the death… It was President Obama who came up with the effective assassination of Osama bin Laden.”

Along with Limbaugh, Donald Trump also congratulated the president. Shortly after the news broke, Trump tweeted “I want to personally congratulate President Obama and the men and women of the armed forces for a job very well done. I am so proud to see Americans standing shoulder to shoulder, waving the American flag in celebration of this great victory.”

Although other right-wingers, such as Sarah Palin and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, did not mention President Obama when reacting to bin Laden’s death, most Republicans and Tea Party members spoke highly of the president.–a.r.
