Rapper 50 Cent seems to be on a roll as of late. Although busy at work on multiple films and his forthcoming album, Black Magic, The G-Unit chief recently inked a deal to star in the independent drama, Fire With Fire, alongside Bruce Willis and Josh Duhamel.
According to variety.com, Fire With Fire will focus on a fireman in the witness protection program who must bend the rules of engagement after the man he’s set to testify against becomes a threat to him and the love of his life.
Written by Tom O’Connor and directed by David Barrett, Fire With Fire will be produced by Emmett/Furla and 50 Cent’s own Cheetah Vision production company. Voltage Pictures will be selling the independent drama at Cannes next week and production on the film is set to begin on June 27.
The film will be the third produced by Cheetah Vision as part of a 10-picture, 200-million-dollar partnership deal with Lionsgate, which will release the film domestically.
The first film, Setup,” starring 50 Cent, Willis and Ryan Phillippe completed principal filming earlier this year. As reported in march, the second film in the deal, the police drama “Freelancers,” starring 50 Cent and Robert De Niro began filming earlier last month.
