Lady Gaga, aka Mother Monster, beat out Oprah in Forbes magazine’s Celebrity 100 Power List, who drops in second this year.
“Lady Gaga tops our power list not just because of her $90 million in earnings, but also because of her 32 million Facebook fans and 10 million Twitter followers,” Forbes said in a release. “[Those fans] helped move 1 million copies of her hit single, “Born This Way,” in just five days.”
Although Lady Gaga statistically came in at No. 1 on the list, I’m thinking that after seeing the surprise episodes leading up to Oprah’s finale show that it may be wise for the staff over at Forbes magazine to create a category for Oprah all her OWN *wink*… anyway …
Forbes claims that compared to the list they compiled from last year, “the earnings power of The Celebrity 100 dropped slightly in 2011, with this year’s stars having earned a collective $4.5 billion during the past year, down from $4.7 billion in 2010.”
Either way it doesn’t matter, both of these powerful women have much respect from me, however in a category such as this, Ms. Oprah Winfrey will always be at the top of my list.
