After being broiled by late-night talk show host David Letterman for his comical “birther” campaign against President Obama, Trump abruptly and – in accordance with his nature – rudely canceled his appearance, replete with some straight jabs of his own.
In a letter he sent to the gap-toothed, bespectacled comic on Friday, the man who loves “the blacks” dribbled this onto paper:
“I was disappointed to hear the statements you made about me last night on your show that I was a ‘racist.’ In actuality, nothing could be further from the truth, and there is nobody who is less of a racist than Donald Trump.”
Trump is well-versed in nonsensical skirmishes with heavyweights of late, having sparred a few rounds with Bill Cosby, Robert DeNiro, Jerry Seinfeld, Seth Meyers and Obama. His hair is beginning to show the wear and tear of the frequent altercations. His tongue, however, has retained its venom to which the following attests:
“Based upon your statements, and despite the fact that we have always done so well together, especially in your ratings, I am canceling my May 18th appearance on your show.
“Additionally, please inform your staff that I will likewise not do the ‘top ten’ list that they had been trying to set up.”
A rep for Letterman declined to comment – or probably didn’t care enough to respond.
