Rapper and actor Jeffrey Atkins, better known as Ja Rule is scheduled to surrender for his two-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to attempted criminal possession of a weapon. Police said they found a loaded .40-caliber semiautomatic gun in his Maybach sports car in July 2007 following a concert in the city with Lil Wayne, who was detained separately. Before turning himself in on June 8, Ja Rule wants to make sure he handles a few things first. Along with releasing his new album “The Renaissance Project” which is scheduled to hit the streets the day after he turns himself in to authorities, the first task on his agenda: end all beef with enemies. The long-running feud between Ja Rule and rapper 50 Cent recently re-ignited in a Twitter battle after 50 Cent wrote disparaging things about Ja Rule. But the rapper admits that he is embarrassed to have engaged in the argument.
“I was a little ashamed of myself to be even involved with that. Because I’m like, yo, I’m 35-years-old and I’m on Twitter beef? That’s not something I want to entertain, but I’m a man first, so I’m reading (expletive) like him sending Tweets and little things about me.” In efforts, to squash his “beef” with 50 Cent, Ja Rule told The Life Files, “It’s resolved now,” Ja Rule said. “I’m cool. We ain’t beefing no more. We’ll never collaborate. That’s just what it is…We don’t gotta go to war, but we’re not friends either. But we can coincide inside of a world. He’s doing him, and he’s not thinking about me, and I’m doing me and I’m not thinking about him.”
I say good for you Ja Rule. Finally you let it go…he may be a self proclaimed businessman but we all know that fool 50 Cent would start a life long feud with himself if he was crazy enough. Wait a minute…he is crazy enough!!! Anyway back to the report…
Although Ja Rule says the case is already “closed,” another issue that he plans to resolve in the coming days is to settle his debt with the IRS. In March, Ja Rule also admitted that he failed to pay taxes on more than $3 million in income and could face more prison time. According to the Associated Press, he is scheduled to be sentenced on June 13 on three tax evasion charges and faces up to one year in prison and $100,000 in fines on each count. Ja Rule references “everybody’s favorite celebrity,” Charlie Sheen while responding to “squashing his beef with the IRS” via twitter: “So to the Feds very cooperative it’s not tax evasion its failure to file and I’m taking care of it case closed #WINNING lol…”
As long as you think you’re winning Ja Rule…nothing else matters. I sure hope he keeps this good attitude while doing time because Lord knows he’ll need as much positivity as he can get!
