We all have yet to hear Cassie’s sophomore ‘Electro Love’ album, especially since it’s in been “in the works” for quite some time now. According to Bad Boy Entertainment’s “Official Girl,” the wait will soon be over. Cassie spoke with Nylon magazine in their July Issue and filled them in on her soon to be released project.
“It’s a cool blend of pop, hip-hop, and ska,” Cassie tells Nylon. “It’s urban Gwen Stefani meets Aaliyah. I hate referencing people but if you had to compare, that’s it.”
She says she hates to reference anyone, but she did. The Aaliyah and Gwen Stefani comparisons are very big shoes to fill, especially with her having no where near as big of a fan base or catalog as the two artists. So, I say Miss Cassie will definitely have to show and prove around here because many, including myself, say that Aaliyah is…well, untouchable in regards to singing and her overall talents point blank period.
Anyway, although there is still no official release date, Cassie seems very excited and confident with the direction of her project. She goes on to say that her favorite track is “‘Lonely Disco Ball’ which is about the end of the night when the party is done and everybody has left.” …*crickets*
