Jennifer Hudson Joins the Cast of the Farrelly Brothers’ ‘The Three Stooges' Remake?

Jennifer Hudson joins the cast of ‘The Three Stooges’ remake as a slapstick nun. This is such a different role for the Oscar winning, “American Idol” star. The singer/actress has officially signed on to play one of the nun’s in the Farrelly Brothers’ big screen retelling of the hilariously iconic show. To be exact, according to Deadline, she’ll play Sister Rosemary, one of three nuns who run the orphanage in which the young stooges are housed.

So basically she will go from a dynamic character like Effie in “Dreamgirls” to… a nun? OK, but only if you say so Farrelly Brothers. A great nun, our “Dreamgirl” shall be. Besides I do agree with versatility in all actors, especially with our African-American actors and actresses, so more power to you Ms. Hudson. The girl has a ridiculous range vocally so why not express the same “range” through her acting career.

After a two-year epic casting fiasco, Jennifer Hudson will join Jane Lynch who is cast as Mother Superior, while Larry David will go in drag as Mother Mengele. Sofia Vergara will also play a role in the film, as a temptress who tricks the three silly stooges. Will Sasso is cast as Curly, Sean Hayes as Larry and Chris Diamantopoulos as Moe.
