On Monday, Beyoncé took her talents to NYC to celebrate America’s birthday and the 125th anniversary of the Statue of Liberty at Macy’s 4th of July Special. The patriotic diva performed ‘Best Thing I Never Had,’ from her new album and ‘God Bless the USA.’ I guess she figured this was one performance that would not be shown from a satellite (no offense BET). While we were out enjoying food, fun in the sun and backyard barbeques, 
Ashanti was in the studio working on music for her upcoming album with super-producer Rico Love. She wrote from her twitter page, “Happy 4th of July!!! ;D some1 send me a grilled turkey burger I’m in the lab missing all the BBQ’s
🙁 #teamgrind!!!” After turning down all that delicious BBQ , it appears that Ms. Glen Cove is very focused and disciplined. Glad to see Ashanti back in the studio working on her craft.
As Beyoncé and Ashanti exercised their voices in the studio and on stage, Halle Berry decided to spend her holiday a more traditional way…with family. Ms. Berry and her adorable daughter Nahla were spotted by the UK’s Daily Mail doing “normal things” in Los Angeles at a 4th of July parade. On Friday the inseparable two also attended a pre-4thof July party and it was reported that Halle Berry even had a little pre-4th shindig of her own. Halle Berry is currently going through a messy custody battle with her ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry, who is also Nahla’s father, so I’m glad to see the two having their mommy and daughter bonding time.
