After suffering multiple intrusions at her Los Angeles home this past weekend, actress Halle Berry now has been issued a restraining order against the alleged intruder, Richard Anthony Franco, after he was arrested Monday night, June 11, at her home.
According to RadarOnline, Franco, who’s described as a 5-foot-9-inch, 27-year-old male with brown eyes and black hair, must stay at least 100 yards away from Berry, her home, her daughter, her vehicle and her workplace.
In the restraining order, Berry explains that she hasn’t a clue who Franco is and has “no desire to have any contact with him.”
The Oscar-winning actress also gives detailed accounts of both of the frightening intrusions, saying that on the first night Franco invaded her property, “I looked out the glass door leading to my enclosed and gated back yard and was shocked to see a complete stranger, carrying something in his hands and approaching us.”
The following night, things became even more terrifying for Berry, who said, “As I opened my glass kitchen door and closed it behind me, all of a sudden I sensed someone behind me and turned to see the same intruder standing less than a foot behind me staring at me through my glass kitchen door.”
Franco was arrested Monday evening at around 11:00 p.m. in the yard of Berry’s home. The Monster’s Ball star’s private security team spotted Franco jumping over her home’s back wall before proceeding to apprehend him and call the LAPD. Franco was booked on suspicion of felony stalking and remains in custody at this time. His bail is set at $150,000.
Of Franco, Berry has written that the man may have a history of criminal violence and that she ultimately fears for her and her family’s lives because of him.
“I am also informed that Franco has a criminal history of violence, theft and drug offenses,” Berry wrote. “This person has invaded and trampled upon the most fundamental sense of security I have, and I am extremely frightened of him and what he might do to me or those I love.” –nicholas robinson
