Kanye West, Bruno Mars, Nicki Minaj, Beyonce, and Rihanna were among the 2011 MTV Video Music Award nominees announced last night. Kanye seven nominations are second only to Katy Perry, who snagged nine noms. Bruno Mars got four noms, including ‘Video of the Year’, ‘Best Pop Video’ and ‘Best Male Video’ for Grenade. Nicki Minaj received three noms, which included ‘Best Hip Hop Video’ and ‘Best Female Video’ for ‘Super Bass’. Beyonce earned three noms for her ‘Who Run The World (Girls)’ video, including ‘Best Cinematography’ and ‘Best Choreography’. Rihanna didn’t earn any solo noms despite the success of her #1 hits ‘Only Girl In The World’, ‘S&M’ and ‘What’s My Name’, but at least received four noms because of her collaborations on Kanye West’s ‘All Of The Lights’ and Eminem’s ‘Love The Way You Lie’ videos.
