Waka Flocka Flame had a run-in with the law this weekend when he was admittedly arrested in Queens, N.Y., on Saturday, July 23, before being released the following day.
The Queens, N.Y.- born Atlanta rapper announced his short-term jail stint via Twitter July 24 before heading to a show at the Midland Theater in Kansas City, Mo.
“I’m finna jump on my flight 2 Kc ……. sorry 2 da whole m town 4 not coming I had spend a nite n jail with no charge #onlybecauseirap,” tweeted Flame, adding, “Can’t no 1 stop with GOD got planned 4me [know that].”
The “Grove St. Party” rapper narrowly escaped major jail time in May when he was cleared of drug charges stemming from a raid of his Georgia home in December 2010.
Waka Flocka Flame is scheduled to release his next (and possibly final) album, Ferrari Boyz, a joint album with fellow Atlanta rapper Gucci Mane, on Aug. 9. Hopefully, Flame can stay out of trouble until he finally retires at the end of the year. –nicholas robinson
