Oakland, Calif., emcee Kreayshawn has been heating up the tabloids with rumors of a hot romance with fellow emcee Drake. And as of last week, the “Gucci Gucci” singer has allegedly been tied with fellow female emcee Da Brat. But now, both rappers are denying the rumors of steamy romance.
According to RapFix Live, on Aug. 17, Da Brat, whose sexuality has come into question on several occasions throughout her career, addressed the rumors on Twitter, shooting them down and claiming that she had never even spoken to Kreayshawn.
“Yooo! I jus got word dat I’m spose to be an item w Kreayshawn???? We haven’t even talked or had a convo yet?? Dat jus mean we both da s–t!!” tweeted Brat, before further refuting the claims with her followers.
Kreayshawn, who is openly bisexual, also denied any rumors of a fling with the “Funkdafied” rapper. According to Rap-Up, while backstage at radio station KMEL’s “Summer Jam 2011,” Kreayshawn, although clearly intrigued by the idea of dating Da Brat, explained that there is nothing going on between the two.
“I like that rumor, but it wasn’t true,” Kreayshawn said of the Da Brat. “But you never know … I got her number. I might hit her up and be like, ‘Hey.’ ”
Kreayshawn then played with the idea of striking up a romance with Young Money emcee Nicki Minaj, who, despite claiming to be heterosexual, has played with the idea of a same-sex affair in several of her suggestive rap lyrics.
“I love Nicki. She fine. I’d kiss her everywhere,” said Kreayshawn, playfully, to fans.
Earlier this month, the Bay Area emcee found herself the target of tabloid fodder after Minaj’s Young Money pal, Drake, announced his adoration for Kreayshawn and even flirted with her during an interview with DJ Green Lantern.
However, Kreayshawn shot down the reports, claiming that she and Drake are just good friends.
Whether Kreayshawn ends up with a rap king or queen or both, we’re sure the couple’s story will be nothing short of hot and press worthy. –nicholas robinson
