Georgia-based Pentecostal Televangelist, author and gospel artist Dr. Juanita Bynum II, who ministers to a devoted following nationwide, made headlines a few years ago when whe was publically beaten by her then husband Thomas Wesley Weeks, III, also a televangelist and founder of Global Outreach Ministries. Weeks pleaded guilty to aggravated assault charges stemming from the incident, and the couple subsequently divorced.
Bynum again drew national media attention in 2009 when she wore a white wedding gown and tiara to her 50th birthday celebration.
Bynum is in the news again this week due to a Facebook update she posted on August 17th that sparked a controversy about whether the Holy Spirit moves fingers across a computer keyboard to produce undecipherable messages similar to ‘speaking in tongues.’
Most of the comments Bynum received in response to the post were positive, and some even contained more “tongues typing” like this follower praising Bynum’s “annointing.”
Other followers on her page, not so much.
What do you think? Was Bynum touched by the Spirit?
