Wendy Williams' 'Say It Like You Mean It Bus Tour' Makes Stop in Houston

Wendy Williams’ “Say It Like You Mean It” bus tour touched down in Houston to be a part of the Fox 26 Morning Show and to chop it up with local journalists about her latest projects and the new season of her show. Rolling out got the scoop on what could be a Wendy fall fashion line and what inspires this charming Jersey girl the most.

What has inspired you most while on the bus tour?

I’m always inspired by my fans because I know that the love that they give is so true and genuine. I get chills when 19-year-old and 22-year-old college girls come up and they say, “Hi Ms. Wendy I love your show. We watch it in the dorm.” I remember being 19 in the dorm and I watched a lady named Oprah, so that’s always inspiring to me. Then a 76-year-old woman comes and says. “You are the daughter I’m glad I never had ’cause you are a mess,” and I take that in the best way, too. Then there’s my peers; we are all struggling moms together and they say, “Wendy I have a little tip for your son, little Kevin, since he’s starting sixth grade” or  they say, “Wendy I’m a lawyer and my dress is so boring but I see you come out in your daytime chic and it inspired me to dress myself up.” All of those things touch me differently but I’m inspired nonetheless.

What’s new for Wendy?

The most important thing career wise right now is this show. The new season begins Sept. 12 but with that said Wendy watchers are so loyal to the show that they love to see what I’m wearing and how my wigs are fixed. So all summer long I have been deep in meetings behind closed doors, feeling fabrics … and doing things that I can’t say anymore about except that I know what people want and I’m so flattered that they want it from me. My stuff will always be priced right and [have] great quality and it’s coming soon.

What do you want people to learn about you from this tour?

Mostly that I’m just like them.  I’m a wife and a mother from Jersey, I’m a regular woman who happens to have a talk show and I say it like I mean it and that’s why it’s called the “Say It Like You Mean It” tour!
