Wells Fargo Offers Free Workshop for Customers With Mortgage Payment Challenges

If you’re facing foreclosure, financial hardship or feeling overwhelmed, here’s some news for Wells Fargo customers to breathe a sigh of relief. On Thursday and Friday, Sept. 8 and 9, 2011, Wells Fargo will host free Home Preservation Workshops for Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, Wells Fargo Financial, and Wachovia Mortgage and Wells Fargo Home Equity customers.

“Wells Fargo wants our customers to succeed financially, and helping struggling homeowners stay in their homes is a top priority,” offers Hugh Rowden, Wells Fargo’s Atlanta-based regional servicing director.  “This workshop will offer homeowners facing payment challenges the opportunity to explore options available for them.”

In Atlanta, Wells Fargo hosted one of its first-ever Home Preservation Workshops in October 2009, when Wells Fargo home retention specialists met one-on-one with 2,663 homeowners facing mortgage payment challenges.  About 150 Wells Fargo home retention team members — including bilingual specialists — will be on hand at the upcoming workshop to work with customers.

Where possible, borrowers will receive a decision on a workout, loan modification, or other options, on-site or shortly following the workshop. Options include Wells Fargo’s own loan modification program and the federal government’s Home Affordable Modification Program (HAMP). Wells Fargo has met with more than 24,000 customers at its 38 Home Preservation Workshops since the first one in Sept. 2009. –yvette caslin

The workshops will be held from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., at the Georgia World Congress Center, Exhibit Hall A2, located at 285 Andrew Young International in Atlanta. Registration is strongly recommended in order to guarantee the ability to meet one-on-one with a representative. Sign up by Tuesday, Sept. 6 at www.wfhmevents.com/leadingthewayhome.
