Rush Limbaugh Believes Melanin Overrides Intelligence When Blacks Vote

Apparently content with his job as America’s leading white conservative race baiter, Rush Limbaugh offered his unsolicited opinion about why former U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell cast his vote for Barack Obama in the 2008 presidential election.

Powell recently mentioned that he wasn’t sure if he would vote for President Obama again, prompting Limbaugh to comment that he was sure President Obama would get Powell’s vote because “melanin is thicker than water.”

The implication of the statement is that brown-skinned people won’t use intellect or intuition to decide, because a candidate on the ballot with an abundance of melanin is all it takes to get their vote.

According to Powell, his reason for crossing party lines to help elect the country’s first black president was due to Obama’s “ability to inspire, because of the inclusive nature of his campaign, because he is reaching out all across America, because of who he is and his rhetorical abilities,” in addition to his “style and substance.” Powell also felt strongly that the addition of Sarah Palin to the Republican ticket was a mistake.

As the 2012 presidential election draws near, the country should be prepared to hear more ridiculous racist sound bites coming from Limbaugh and others who are hoping a little reverse-psychology might influence a significant number of black voters to consider Rick (BP oil spill was an act of God) Perry or Michelle (blacks were better off during slavery) Bachman.

Man, that OxyContin must be a powerful drug.
