Pops of color ruled the manicured hands on fashion designer Jason Wu’s runway, but various hues of red was the featured accent shade. A classic nail color for years, red comes in plenty of shades to flatter every skin tone.
Wu designated OPI as the official nail care sponsor for his runway show during the Spring 2012 NYFW. Wu entered the spotlight in 2009 when the First Lady Michelle Obama wore one of his designs to the Inaugural Ball. Known for his classic take on strong pieces that display a feminine and sophisticated touch, it’s no surprise that Wu wanted to evoke the feel of old Hollywood glamour.
Models at Wu’s show, flashed an OPI classic orange-red on their hands called “MonSooner or Later,” which accented the clothing beautifully. Toes were soft and neutral sporting the soft pink shade “Samoan Sand.”
At the Rebecca Taylor show, rich neutral shades were featured. “Stranger Tides,” a gray-green pastel that’s part of the Pirates of the Caribbean collection was painted on fingernails. A nude shade, “Tickle My France-y”, complimented the toes.
