NEW YORK — Unlike what has been reported in the news, Occupy Wall Street is not a campaign comprised of youthful discontents, but a protest movement consisting of thousands of individuals spanning the spectrum of political beliefs and economic statuses.
Many who have come here have college degrees. Some are homeless. Others have graduated from Ivy League schools. Many came toting their families and children. All are disgusted with the way the country has devolved over the past decade and have taken to the streets air their collective grievances against corporate greed. The movement has proven contagious as, the “Today” show has reported, the Occupy Wall Street protests have spilled into 58 American cities.
Below are some of the visual takes of the movement from Ground Zero in Lower Manhattan.
