After Jay-Z and Beyoncé revealed in August that they were expecting their first child together, fans and tabloids have been chomping at the bit waiting to find out the sex of the baby. Now, fans may have their answer after it was recently alleged that Jay and Beyoncé will be welcoming a baby girl.
The news comes courtesy of In Touch Weekly, who say that a friend close to Beyoncé spilled the beans on the closely guarded secret and revealed the singer’s joy over learning the sex of the baby.
“Beyoncé is thrilled she’s having a daughter,” said the friend. And though Beyoncé and Jay would’ve been content to have a healthy child of either sex, the 4 singer secretly wished for a daughter. “She and her mother are so close, and she’s wanted to have that relationship with her own child,” said the friend.
The source also claims that Beyoncé, who adores the fashion creations her mother, Tina Knowles, designs for her, is eager to play dress up with her daughter and is apparently shelling out loads of money at stores like Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Gap and OshKosh B’Gosh in preparation of the baby’s arrival.
“Her family’s afraid there won’t be anything left to buy for her baby shower in December!” the friend said.
Apparently, fashionable clothes aren’t the only luxury that the Carters’ baby will enjoy. According to Us Weekly, a source close to the couple says that Jay and Beyoncé are building a 2,200-square-foot nursery in their Tribeca area apartment in New York City.
If the report is true, it looks like Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey won’t be the only power couple giving their children the royal treatment. –nicholas robinson
